DEDICATED ADVOCATE FOR WORKERS’ RIGHTS

Hello, I’m Casey Spence. I specialize in Workers’ Compensation and serve as the lead attorney at Sumwalt Anderson’s Greensboro office. Since joining in January 2024, after over fifteen years with a large local firm, I have dedicated my career to advocating for injured workers. My extensive experience spans all claim levels, from the Industrial Commission to the Supreme Court of North Carolina.

I am proud to be a Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation since 2016, reflecting my deep expertise and commitment to this area of law. My successful advocacy is evidenced by my membership in both the Million Dollar Advocates and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates forums, highlighting cases settled for over two million dollars.

I am actively involved in the legal community as Vice Chair of the NCAJ Executive Committee for Workers’ Compensation and as the Workers’ Compensation CLE Planner for the NCBA Workers’ Compensation Council. I frequently speak at CLE seminars across the state, contributing to the education of legal professionals in workers’ compensation law.

I completed my undergraduate studies magna cum laude at N.C. State, obtaining degrees in Spanish and International Politics, with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic language. I earned my Juris Doctor with honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law. Fluent in Spanish, I reside in Summerfield and enjoy spending time on the softball field with my three girls or volunteering at their schools.
